Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split at joints, tips removed
- 1 tablespoon baking powder (aluminum-free)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
For the sauce (optional):
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional for sweetness)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Pat wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Arrange wings in a single layer on the rack.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
- While wings bake, combine hot sauce, melted butter, and honey in a small saucepan and heat until warm.
- Toss baked wings in sauce or serve on the side for dipping.
- Serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing.
Notes
For extra crispy wings, refrigerate them uncovered on a rack for a few hours before baking to dry out the skin.
